Golf Driving Range near Son Parc, Menorca Club House

The Son Parc golf course is located within walking distance of the villa. The course offers 18 holes. There is a driving range, club house and shop and the following may be hired, clubs, buggies, electric and pull trolleys. The club also offers golf lessons.

Horse Riding

Located just after Es Mercadel is Menorca a Cavall riding stables. They offer guided horseback excursions from their riding centre on the balearic island of Menorca. Their  riding stables are at the Minorcan farm of Santa Rita, between Mercadal and Ferreries. The routes they ride are through the Tramontana region countryside, and along the 'Cami de Cavalls' ( the newly reinstated 'horse road' around the island) and north coast beaches. Water Parks

Aqua Park in Cala Forcat - a small water park ideal for younger children with a restaurant and a bouncy castle play area. The park can be found on the main road going into Cala Forcat - near to Hotel Los Delphines.

Aquacentre is a larger water park than Calan Forcat. This park includes four big slides, including the Black hole and the Kamikaze, one large pool with both walk-in and jump in areas, one small pool with smaller slides for the young ones and a pool with a wave machine.  For further information please see

Menorca offers fantastic diving sites and S'Algar along with Binibeca, Cala Galdana, Port Addaia, Calan Forcat, Cala Bosc plus other resorts offer courses from "try a dive" to course over 5 - 6 days.  The magnificent beach of Arenal de Son Saura lies just below the resort within 5 minutes drive of the villa, with sands stretching hundreds of metres into the bay and gently shelving making it ideal for children and wonderful for snorkeling enthusiasts with it's crystal clear waters. There are also several clubs located around the island where you may both wind sail and take sailing lessons.

Bike Hire

Renting a bike is the great way of seeing some of the island and generally the roads are very good around the island. Bikes may be hired from:

Cricket

Menorca has a cricket club located within close proximity to Mahon the capital of the island. Matches are play from March to October and there is a clubhouse where visitors can enjoy refreshments and watch cricket being played on the most beautiful ground in the Mediterranean. Nearby Sol Park Hotel

Within five minutes walk of the villa is the 'Sol Parc Hotel' which is a self catering complex which has an array of facilities set around and behind the hotel, including a supermarket, amusement arcade, bar area, swimming pool with separate toddler trainer pool and children's play area.

Fiestas

Menorca has many Fiestas, one of the most famous being that of Ciudadella fiesta of Saint Joan on 23rd and 24th of June. The horses bred in Menorca are the stars of the fiestas and are made to dance to the airs of Menorcan "jota" tunes, the most famous being the "Saint Joan" jota.

Other activities and places to visit

Mount Toro is well worth visiting as it is the highest point on the island at approximately 1,000 ft. As well as being the highest point it is also the spiritual centre with the sanctuary built in the late 16th century and tended by a community of Franciscan nuns. The views over almost all of the island are quite spectacular.

Ciutadella is the former capital of Menorca . The old Arab Mediterranean citadel walled in by the harbour defences and winding, narrow streets of stone between noble palaces. The beautiful ancient harbour with good bars and restaurants.

Ferreries craft fair in Plaz Espana – open every Saturday all year round from 9am to 1pm – selling local fruit and vegetables, original ceramic crafts, plants etc Also traditional dance shows.

Wine tasting at Bodegas Binifadet – free wine tours and tastings everyday 10am to 2pm and 4pm to 8pm. Please see www.binifadet.com

Ten Pin Bowling in Son Bou - a recently built indoor entertainment centre with modern bowling alleys as its main attraction and located in the resort centre.
